Provenance is one of the most important qualities for royal commemoratives, and a good royal provenance can increase an items value ten fold,as was proved in the recent sale of Princess Margaret's possessions at Christie's. Provenance is proof, proof of who it was given to is a major factor, and because this card was given to a member of the British aristocracy, this greatly enhances its provenance and value.

This card comes from what we consider to be the most important collection that we have ever acquired.Christmas cards that have been hand signed and dedicated by Queen Elizabeth,The late Queen Mother are rare, even rarer still though,is this card, sent to a member of a famous aristocratic family, who were personal friends of the Queen Mother. This combination makes this one of the rarest cards ever to be offered for sale. The full fascinating story of these cards will only be given to the buyer.

The card was sent in 1977. The picture on the card is an actual photograph and shows The Queen Mother riding in the Silver Jubilee Procession with Prince Andrew and Prince Harry.

Hand signed and inscribed cards to famous named people, such as is the case with this example, are the ultimate royal card, as such they command premium prices.

The card has the name of the person to whom it was sent obscured, for privacy reasons. It has a clear hand written blue ink signature and dedication by The Queen Mother .We would recommend that the buyer frames these using UV glass to prevent deterioration.

Many signed royal photographs and Christmas cards have proved to be fakes or forgeries. This card has an impeccable provenance, being part of a collection bought directly by us,not from an auction house or from another dealer. The bi-fold card is a large format 17" x 7" - 480mm x 175mm opened out.The front of the card has the Gilt Imperial State Crown in relief. The card is in good clean condition.

The card is accompanied by a Certificate of Provenance signed by Keith Lawson. Both he and Peter Smith the other Director of Royal & Regal Memorabilia, appear regularly on TV,as the recognized experts in this field.
