One of the rarer pieces made for the 1981 Royal Wedding and one of the nicest.This attractive mug was made by Josia Wedgwood in 1981 to celebrate the royal wedding of the Prince of Wales and Princess Diana.

The blue jasper mug has white bas-relief decoration. In the center are the profile portraits of The Prince of Wales, designed by Arnold Machin and the figure of Princess Diana designed by Mike Dillon.This is set in a half frame of laurel with a scroll ribbon below inscribed,"Royal Wedding - July 1981" and above is the Prince of Wales feathers.

Complimenting the front of the mug,the back has the bas-relief facade of St Paul's Cathedral where the Royal Wedding took place.

The mug has a border of laurel leaves around the base and on the handle. The mug is 4 1/2" - 110mm tall,it is in excellent condition without any chips or cracks.The Wedgwood backstamp is impressed into the base.
