This mug was designed by Richard Guyatt who was a designer and academic who has been described as "one of the 20th century's most seminal figures in the world of graphic design. He was the youngest ever professor at the Royal College of Art on appointment in 1948, and was Rector of the Royal College of Art from 1978-81. He worked for the Royal College of Art for 34 years, and acted as designer to Wedgwood. Guyatt created coins for the Royal Mint and designed postage stamps for the Royal Mail . Limited edition mugs by him are very collectable and sought after.

This very attractive china and heavily gilded mug was made by Wedgwood in 1984 to celebrate the birth of Prince Henry Charles Albert David - Prince Harry, the second son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Unusually for a Guyatt mg this is not the usual 'pint pot' size the mug is 3" -75 mm tall and is in excellent condition without any chips, cracks or age crazing. The Wedgwood China backstamp is on the base.
