Royal Doulton made two versions of this beaker, this the de-lux version in translucent china and the less expensive pottery version it was also made in two sizes, this is the smaller version. The beaker was made to commemorate the 1937 Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother).

The profile portrait shows a very young looking King and Queen.They are flanked by the British flags and The Royal Standard.Below on a velvet cushion is The St Edward's Crown with items of the Coronation regalia, the Orb, Ampula and Sceptre.The decoration is encircled by the national flowers.

Encircling the inner rim is the Doulton leaf decoration ,and the back of the cup has a vertical British banner

The beaker is only 3 1/2" - 90mm tall and is of an attractive shape.It is in superb condition without any chips, cracks or crazing.The Royal Doulton backstamp is imprinted on the base.
