Royal Doulton made a cup and a beaker version of this piece,of the two the beaker is the more pleasing shape.The beaker was made to commemorate the 1937 Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother). The profile portrait shows a very young looking King and Queen.They are flanked by the British flags and The Royal Standard.Below on a velvet cushion is The St Edward's Crown with items of the Coronation regalia, the Orb, Ampula and Sceptre.The decoration is encircled by the national flowers.

Encircling the inner rim is the Doulton leaf decoration ,and the back of the cup has a vertical British banner flag again with the Crown and Coronation regalia.

The 4" - 100mm beaker is an attractive shape with a crenelated base rim.It is in superb condition without any chips, cracks or crazing.The Royal Doulton backstamp is imprinted on the base.
