One of the rarest categories of royal commemoratives are items that are personal gifts from The Queen. The present British royal family have carried on the tradition of giving gifts to senior members of the royal household staff at Christmas and on other significant royal occasions, a tradition that was started by King George V and Queen Mary.

A beautiful lead crystal wine decanter in a fitted silk lined case.The neck of the decanter has a wide silver band encircling it with the Royal Cypher of H.M.Queen Elizabeth II engraved into it. The pale blue fitted box has the royal cypher in silver on the lid together with 'Christmas 2009' .

This decanter was presented by Queen Elizabeth II to a senior member of the royal household staff at Christmas 2009. The decanter was made exclusively for The Queen and like all royal gifts the design and quality is exceptional.

The decanter is 320mm tall and it is accompanied by the gift card. The decanter is in very good unused condition apart from a minute chip on the inner rim and is complete with the original light blue presentation box which has some minor marks on it, on the lid of which is the embossed royal cypher of Queen Elizabeth II and the year the present was given, it is also complete with the gift card that came with it.
