This card comes from what we consider to be the most important collection that we have ever acquired.Christmas cards that have been hand signed by Prince Charles are quite rare, even rarer still though, is this card, sent to a famous aristocratic family that were personal friends of both Charles and Diana, This card was sent to the son who was the Godson of Prince Charles.None of these cards have ever been offered before. This combination makes this one of the rarest cards ever to be offered for sale. The full fascinating story of these cards will only be given to the buyer.

This card is the 1983 Christmas card sent by Prince Charles. The picture on this rare Christmas card is an actual photograph and like many of the royal Christmas cards carries a delightful family portrait, this one shows Prince Charles and Princess Diana with the infant Prince William.

Hand signed and inscribed cards to famous named people, such as is the case with this example, are the ultimate royal card,as such they command premium prices. The card does have on it the name of the person to whom it was sent, for privacy reasons this is obscured. It has clear hand written ink signature of the Prince of Wales and a hand written salutation 'with lots of love from Godfather Charles'.The signature is slightly faded, as would be expected of ink written signatures of this age,we would recommend that the buyer frames these using UV glass to prevent deterioration.

Many signed royal photographs and Christmas cards have proved to be fakes or forgeries. This card has an impeccable provenance, being part of a collection bought directly by us,not from an auction house or from another dealer. The bi-fold card is a large format 10" x 8" - 250mm x 200mm opened out.The front of the card has the Prince of Wales Crest in gilt relief. The card is in undamaged condition and has been professionally matted.

The card is accompanied by a Certificate of Provenance signed by Keith Lawson. Both he and Peter Smith the other Director of Royal & Regal Memorabilia, appear regularly on TV,as the recognised experts in this field. The certificate guarantees that the signatures and dedication on the card have been hand written by Prince Charles.
